Katie is a Midwest-based writer and theater artist and a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, where she completed BA degrees in Theater Performance and English Writing and Rhetoric and a minor in stage management. "What are you going to do with that?" is still her least favorite question, but she's warming up to it, little by little.

As an artist Katie hopes to always be exploring the feedback loop between written words and live performance, and she tries to strike a balance between the absurd, the minimalist, and the honest in everything she creates. She's got a soft spot for magical realism and a knack, she likes to think, for stylistic control. Her acting work has gotten the occasional shout-out from the Kennedy Center's American College Theater Festival, and her original fiction has been published in Steam Ticket Vol. 20 and Flash Fiction Online magazine's August 2020 issue.
